Taylor McDonald is a photographer based in Durham, North Carolina, working across interiors, architecture, hospitality, and travel.

Her photographs are rooted in a careful observation of place: the way light moves through a room, the details that give a space its character, and the traces of the people who inhabit it. With an exacting approach to composition, Taylor creates images that feel considered without losing the atmosphere, humor, or humanity of a place. Her work moves between precision and storytelling, documenting spaces not simply as they look, but as they feel to be in.

Taylor received her BFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2015 and has spent the decade since working professionally throughout the Southeast and beyond. Her photography has appeared in Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, Travel + Leisure, Garden & Gun, The Boston Globe, Curbed, WALTER Magazine, and Triangle Business Journal, among others.

Outside of commissioned work, Taylor maintains a personal fine art practice and cherishes the slower process of working with film. Her personal work explores themes of isolation, security, and femininity, offering a space for experimentation and self-expression beyond the structure of an assignment. These projects are driven by the same curiosity that informs her commissioned work: an incessant calling to observe, preserve, and document the magic surrounding us.
